Kirsten Gruener, PT, DPT, SCS, serves as Clinic Director and Physical Therapist at the new East Islip facility.
“I’m truly honored and excited to serve the East Islip community, helping people get back to their goals and living life to the fullest,” shared Kirsten. “My passion is helping individuals move better and feel their best, and I look forward to supporting them every step of the way.”
Kirsten earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Hofstra University in 2018 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from South College in Knoxville, TN, in 2021. She completed a Sports Residency with Ivy Rehab and Hospital for Special Surgery in 2023 and is now a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist. According to the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, this certification is held by less than 1% of all licensed Physical Therapists in the United States. Kirsten has a passion for treating athletes of all ages and levels.
She utilizes manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and evidence-based practices to help her patients reach their goals, whether that’s returning to a competitive sport or enjoying their favorite hobbies. Her primary focus is helping patients regain strength and function, often leaving them stronger than before.
Outside of the clinic, Kirsten enjoys hiking and playing pickleball with her family.
