Pediatric Physical Therapy
We go above and beyond when it comes to the treatment of our young patients. Our goal is to make their experience as close to “playtime” as possible.
An experience that’s like playtime.
We go above and beyond when it comes to the treatment of our young patients. Our goal is to make their experience as close to “playtime” as possible. Our specially-trained physical therapists work one-on-one with pediatric patients to help them, encourage progress, and form lasting bonds.
Our pediatric physical therapists work to improve a child’s gross motor ability (large muscle groups) which facilitates improved mobility, coordination, and balance.
We offer specialty evaluations and therapeutic interventions for the following areas:
- Motor planning
- Coordination and balance training
- Mobility: transfers, floor mobility, ambulation
- Neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy
- Orthopedic conditions such as torticollis, hip dysplasia, scoliosis, and amputation
- Musculoskeletal conditions such as decreased strength, muscle tone, muscle control, flexibility, joint motion, posture, and endurance
- Adaptive Equipment Assessment and training (Wheelchairs, walkers, standers, gait trainers, etc.)

FAQs
How long will my child need pediatric physical therapy?
The length of treatment varies depending on your child’s diagnosis, goals, and progress. Some children may need just a few weeks of therapy, while others benefit from ongoing sessions. Your Ivy Rehab therapist will provide a detailed plan and timeline after evaluation.
Is pediatric physical therapy covered by insurance?
Yes, in most cases. Most insurance plans, including Medicaid and commercial providers, cover pediatric physical therapy when medically necessary. Our team will help you verify your coverage before starting therapy.
What age should a child start physical therapy?
Children can begin physical therapy as early as infancy. Early intervention is important, especially if your child shows signs of developmental delay or physical limitations. Our team can assess your child and provide a customized care plan based on their age and needs.
