The Athletic Training program at the Ivy Rehab Network can be customized for all ages and athletic levels, including youth, high school, college, weekend warriors, and professional athletes. Programs tailored to your current physical condition and fitness level may include personalized training and guided sessions focused on strength and mobility.

Our certified athletic trainers help athletes, teams, and other active individuals train properly for sports to prevent both acute and chronic injuries. If you’re post-injury or recovering from surgery (including ACL rehab), our trainers are here to guide you every step of the way—often alongside your doctor or physical therapist.

Can a personal trainer help with injury rehabilitation?

Yes. A rehab personal trainer can support injury recovery using a personalized plan, safe exercise progressions, and focus on mobility and range of motion—especially for returning to normal activities.

Is it safe to work out post-injury or after surgery (including ACL rehab)?

It can be safe with expert guidance and medical clearance. Your training plan should take into account your medical history, current physical condition, and recommendations from your doctor or physical therapist.

I’ve already been training—can personalized training programs still help?

Should I start with physical therapy or a rehab personal trainer?

I want to give a huge shout out to my PT Mary-Beth at "Back in Action Physical Therapy" on Kelly RD in Apex. My sincere gratitude for her wealth of experience and her positive impact that achieved my goal, saving me from undergoing additional anesthesia to gain additional range of motion (ROM) on my knee after knee surgery in my 4th month post op. Not only has Mary Beth a kind, sweet and encouraging personality, but she is also intuitive to your needs and really listens to and knows when to push, trying to archive the best outcome. My Dr wanted me at a 120-degree range coming from an 87-degree knee bend. Mary Beth worked with me 2 times a week on gaining range of motion for 4 weeks and was able to prevent ROM, and getting me to -127 degrees, resulting a 40-degree knee bend. What an accomplishment! I've had 2 other PTs at 2 different places prior and have them to compare to. I can honestly say that hands down, Mary-Beth is the best!

All the people here are very friendly and professional… I’ve unfortunately had to go to other occupational therapy in the past… But I can tell you that this place rates at the very top of any other place I’ve been to. My mom has had problems with her back for years. All she has been doing is injections. The PT’s in the passed didn’t work with her the way that Ivy Rehab does. I’ve been coming here to treat a badly sprained ankle that had been agonizing me for months. Jenna got me squared away with patience and creative exercises to challenge me. I ended up having surgery to correct a torn ligament (from the original injury) and I immediately went back to see Jenna for my post-operative treatment. I wouldn’t go anywhere else if I needed PT.

Ivy Rehab is a one a kind place. If I could leave a million 5star reviews I would. This has been my first time ever having to do physical therapy of any sorts and they have made this experience worthwhile. From the moment I walked in on my first day to every visit since I’ve felt safe and more than just like another patient to get in and out. They really care and value every person that comes through the door and want to see you get better in every aspect. Theresa has been amazing! I feel like my recovery has been a roller coaster but Theresa has been there with me every step of the way to guide me, make adjustments in my sessions, give me tips on things to do at home, words of encouragement to keep going, and so much more. I’m really big on energies and no matter what day I come in whether a good or bad day for me the entire staff is just so pleasant and so warm.
