Our mission
The mission of the Ivy Rehab HSS Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program is to provide physical therapists with advanced knowledge and skills to enhance patient care in the specialty of orthopedic physical therapy. The program promotes professionalism and leadership along with evidence-based practice to enhance the therapeutic alliance and quality of life in the communities we serve.
Program description
The Ivy Rehab HSS Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to excel in the professional development of clinicians in the field of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Expert clinicians will serve as faculty to guide, instruct and mentor each resident in developing advanced knowledge and clinical expertise throughout the residency program. Additionally, the residency program is designed to prepare residents to complete the ABPTS Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) examination. Each resident must complete all assigned didactic material and written and practical examinations.

Curriculum
The Ivy Rehab HSS Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency provides a structured and robust didactic curriculum to enhance clinical reasoning and advance skills while incorporating the most recent evidence-based practices. This program utilizes a blended delivery model for our didactic curriculum that includes online self-study modules, live online learning, virtual grand rounds, journal club, case review, independent study, and live in-person weekend courses that are to be completed throughout this comprehensive 12-month residency program.

The Ivy Rehab Hospital for Special Surgery Orthopedic Residency Program is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education as a post-professional residency program for physical therapists in orthopedics.
