Michael P. Neuscheler - Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Neuscheler has held executive operating positions with both publicly-traded and private entities having served most recently as Chief Financial Officer of i3 Mobile, a publicly-traded provider of wireless data services. Mr. Neuscheler served as Professional Sports Care’s CFO and was integrally involved with the Company’s IPO, numerous start-ups and acquisitions as well as the Company’s ultimate acquisition by HealthSouth. Mr. Neuscheler was a senior executive of Collegiate Health Care, Inc., which managed student health centers at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Neuscheler has 20 years of experience at all stages of corporate development including start-ups, high growth situations, private placements, IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions.


Michael Sportini - Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Sportini has over 15 years of healthcare management experience in both the private and institutional setting and is clinically trained as an Exercise Physiologist. Prior to joining IVYREHAB, Mr. Sportini was Assistant Vice President of Rehabilitation at Parker Jewish Hospital where he was responsible for all inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services as well as the long-term home healthcare program. Mr. Sportini was also the Vice President of Rehabilitation Services at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center which boasts the largest inpatient rehabilitation unit and outpatient Rehabilitation Network in the New York region. Over the past 5 years, Mr. Sportini has orchestrated the opening of 33 outpatient rehabilitation facilities across 5 counties generating in excess of 295,000 annual patient visits.

George Merhi - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Merhi has held many executive financial positions with 15 years of experience. Prior to joining IVYREHAB Network, Inc. in 2005, he served as the CFO of Saratoga Spring Water Company where he was responsible for restructuring the company’s debt and overseeing the accounting operations. His other experiences include Vice President of Finance at Questech Financial, a financial services company where he orchestrated 5 portfolio securitizations and Vice President – Treasurer at ONYX Services, a contract food & beverage management company. In each position, he directed the implementation of new corporate accounting processes, financial systems, mergers and acquisitions and IPO applications. Mr. Merhi is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting department of IVYREHAB.

Jeremy C. VanDevender, PT - Vice President of Business Development


Mr. VanDevender has been with IVYREHAB since its inception in 2003 when he opened and directed one of IVYREHAB's first facilities in Hoboken which he operated until 2006, prior to becoming the director of IVY's Staten Island facility. In this time, Mr. VanDevender pioneered the Regional Director role acting as IVY's first Regional Director prior to the roll out of this role company wide. Jeremy has also been integrally involved in a number of IVYREHAB's new business opportunities over the past five years including de novos, acquisitions and management contracts. Mr. VanDevender received his BS in Physical Therapy from The Chicago Medical School in 1999, since that time he has specialized in both sports and orthopedic physical therapy practice as well as clinical and operations management. Mr. VanDevender received graduate training at New York University while studying Pathokinesiology with a special focus on biomechanics and their relation to sports medicine physical therapy practice, he has also expanded his clinical experience through over 150 hours of professional continuing education.

Jean M. Benson - Director of Human Resources

Ms. Benson has over 15 years of executive human resources experience in a wide variety of business environments including private and publicly held corporations, mergers, acquisitions, start ups, corporate turnarounds, and multinational offices. Prior to joining IVYREHAB in 2007, Ms. Benson was Vice President of Human Resources and a Corporate Officer for Cannondale Bicycle Corporation, a manufacturer of high-end bicycles which are sold in over 65 countries generating annual revenues in excess of $100M. During Ms. Benson's tenure at Cannondale she was a key member of the senior management team that built the most profitable company in its industry, supported the company's IPO with a follow up secondary offering raising more than $40 million in capital, reorganized the company after bankruptcy, and returned the company to profitability and double digit revenue growth within two quarters of reorganization. While at Cannondale Ms. Benson was responsible for all aspects of their human resources operation including benefits administration, payroll administration, project management, program development, recruitment and retention.

Maria Matthews - Director of Reimbursement

Ms. Matthews has 15 years of healthcare experience with a primary focus on third party reimbursements. For the past 5 years, Ms. Matthews has been employed as a reimbursement specialist within the outpatient physical therapy division of two New York based hospitals. Experienced in all administrative and operational facets of outpatient physical therapy facilities, Ms. Matthews received her BS in Healthcare Administration in December of 2003.
